Welcome back to Term 2
We have had a busy start to the term! We set the scene for our inquiry learning this term, On a Plate by having a session outside under a shade shelter which we had to share with room 8. Then off to the museum this week to view the Canterbury Quakes exhibit to acquire a better understanding of how people were affected. Thanks to all the parent helpers who came along to this session, we really appreciated your help.

Thanks Alex!
A big THANK YOU to Alex who shared her big easter bunny with us. Alex won this bunny and lots of eggs in a competition and kindly shared it with room 6.
Just want to say the two photos are not before and after eating the bunny!

Rights of the Child
In room 6 we have been learning about the Rights of the Child. We looked at 3 different articles and created posters to help illustrate what we understand about that article.
Here are our finished posters. You can come and view the syndicate display in our corridor.
Article 23 Disabled Children
Article 7 Birth registration, name, nationality and parental care
Article 19 Protection from all forms of violence, abuse and neglect

We have had a busy day today! This morning we have been out at hockey with Beaky and this afternoon we have been learning how to post on our individual blogs. We have been learning how to upload a photo from our files. It has been quite tricky but we are getting the hang of it! Check out our individual blogs and leave a comment.
Here are some photos from this morning.

A busy few weeks
Hello!
Room 6 have been busy with lots of great events and activities over the last few weeks.
We have taken part in class activities, Kelly Sports, swimming (when it has been warm enough!), clay at the Suter, Purple Cake Day and lots more. We baked biscuits for Purple Cake Day and along with other baking we raised $45.50! A big thank you to you all for your help in providing the ingredients.
Here are a few photos from the last few weeks.

Welcome to Room 6 2014 blog
Hello it's great to be back in Room 6 and I am still ironing out a few things so thank you for your patience. I am in the process of setting up individual blogs for all children in room 6. The individual blogs will be the individual's own work and the children decide what they wish to post. All comments are moderated by myself so if you don't see a comment published it is because I haven't got round to reading it!
So, enjoy our class blog and follow us on our learning journey this year!
